Immigration Attorney

Anastasia Johnson, Esq.

Anastasia Johnson, Esq., is the founder and Managing Attorney at Pelican Johnson Immigration Law, PA., a firm devoted exclusively to the practice of immigration law. At a time when obtaining the right to live in the US is more complicated than ever before; let Ms. Johnson advise you about your specific legal situation. With nearly a decade of professional experience Ms. Johnson is uniquely qualified to represent you in your immigration case. She understands the heartache and uncertainty that all immigrants face and the freedom experienced when a valid legal status is secured.

Four decades ago, Ms. Johnson’s mother was an undocumented immigrant from Canada. After her mother tried without success to secure an employment-based visa, her mother met and married an American citizen and attempted to secure a green card through marriage. However, the domestic abuse that an immigrant spouse can experience led Ms. Johnson’s mother and her two small daughters to return to Canada. At that time, her mother did not have the protections afforded by VAWA, which was passed in 1994, nor did she have the benefit of hiring an attorney. Looking back, it is easy to see how hiring an attorney would have drastically altered the outcome for her family.

From that point forward, Ms. Johnson saw first-hand how the immigration system can split families between two countries and shape the lives of everyone involved. Not including the fear that the airport or the border can cause; the delays, questioning, and suspicion that a family can face. However, as a US citizen Ms. Johnson knows first-hand the advantages that a secure immigration status provides and knows the difference that retaining a qualified attorney can make. Because of her own personal experience Ms. Johnson will zealously advocate for you with the passion and intensity it takes to make sure your loved ones are here in the US, with you.

Ms. Johnson graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. While in law school she was on the Honor Roll and was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, Thomas Jefferson Medal, and the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada and was on the Dean’s List and awarded the Network of Executive Women’s Scholarship and the William F. Harrah Honors Award. Ms. Johnson has also completed specialized immigration law course work and certificate programs at the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. and at University of California in San Diego.

Ms. Johnson is an active member of the California Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in California and immigration law throughout the United States and internationally. She is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
