Requirements

What is Naturalization?

If you are over 18 years old and a current lawful permanent resident (green card holder) and want to become a U.S. citizen, you will have to go through the naturalization process. The process consists of filling the N-400, biometrics, an interview and the swearing in ceremony. Once you are a U.S. Citizen you will enjoy these benefits:

You must fall within one of the three categories to start the process:

1
Have U.S. permanent residency, also called a green card and have lived in the United States for five years.
2
Fast-track naturalization if you are the spouse of a U.S. citizen and have lived in the United States at least three years.
3
You are a permanent resident and have served in the United States military (wait time varies)

If you think you meet the requirements call for a consultation today!

In addition to qualifying in one of the categories above, you must also meet a number of additional requirements including but not limited to:

  • You must not have taken any trips of six months or longer outside of the United States during the three- or five-year wait period.
  • Show that you have been physically present in the United States for 30 months. In some cases, this may be 18 months if you are married to a U.S. citizen.
  • how that you have lived for at least 3 months in the state or USCIS district where you claim residence.
  • Prove that you have knowledge of U.S. civics and can speak, read and write in English.

While the naturalization process may seem as easy as the 4 steps mentioned above and meeting some simple requirements, there is a long list of hidden issues that can create eligibility problems you might not be aware of.

Consider a few questions: Have you traveled outside of the U.S. for an extended period of time? Do you owe back taxes? Are you up to date on child support? Are you already a citizen? While these things may not seem like a big deal, they can affect your naturalization. USCIS can deny your petition because of them.

That’s why when we take on your case, we look into your past and ask the relevant questions to make sure you qualify and make sure that the strongest petition is presented on your behalf.

A few of the most important issues during the naturalization process are ensuring you have a good moral character, understanding any criminal issues in your past and ensuring that filling the naturalization application does not cause you to be deported. Our firm will thoroughly screen your prior applications and will conduct FOIA and background checks when applicable. Our goal is for you to succeed the first time and avoid costly appeals and denials or even removal proceedings.

Our truly flat rate fee and easy payment plan will cover the entire process from start to finish, including the N-400 Application, background screening, biometrics appointment, preparing you for the interview, naturalization ceremony and the oath of allegiance.

Don’t wait! USCIS filling fees are only going to go up and the Naturalization Exam may change. Don’t Wait!
